Can anyone recommend a good tool thats not too expensive Ive tried mesh lab and instant mesh, but havent had much success with either.

Theres not very much you can do that isnt going to take a long time. ![]() If you scale the helix down at the end, it can look pretty clean too. You can re-combine them later with the connect and optimize tools. Once you separate the mesh you can use a combination of the polygon reduction tool and untriangulate tools.
